Coinfloor is the UK’s longest established Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange. Founded with a focus on trust, security and reliability, our goal has always been to create a safe and accessible place to trade and invest in cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin. Coinfloor’s history goes back to 2012 when we experienced first hand the challenges of buying, selling and trading bitcoins in the UK, and wanted to build a business that solved this problem.
Coinfloor’s team is passionate about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. The promise of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as an asset and money system is something that unites us. CEO, Obi Nwosu has over 20 years of experience building online marketplaces including QXL and WeeWorld, bringing online marketplaces and virtual currencies to tens of millions of users across the UK and world. Head of Finance and Operations, Teggy Altankhuyag, and Co-Director alongside Obi, has an extensive background in business intelligence and strategic planning. She works with the CEO to drive the vision, strategy, and operations throughout all aspects of Coinfloor.
Coinfloor has attracted funding from top-tier early stage VC fund, Passion Capital, through a fund part owned by the UK Government’s British Business Bank, and Taavet Hinrikus, the co-founder of TransferWise and first employee of Skype. We also are backed by private investors including Adam Knight, the former MD of Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse’s commodities trading business. Adam also serves as the Chairman of Coinfloor’s board.
